About Braceland Centurion

Braceland Centurion opened its doors towards the end of 2005 and was situated in a converted house at the corner of Selborne and Cantonment Ave, Lyttelton.

At the time, Braceland Centurion only employed one receptionist and one oral hygienist. The number of patients grew quickly and it was soon evident that more space would be required to accommodate the requirements of the growing practice.

In 2007, the practice moved to its current location in the Lifestyle Management Park, with four dental chairs. In 2010, the clinical area was expanded and 6 dental chairs are now available to accommodate patients during their orthodontic follow-up appointments.

Braceland Centurion now employs six oral hygienists, one dental assistant, two receptionists and an accounts manager.

Braceland Centurion is a specialized orthodontic practice and offers early phase orthodontics (pre-teens), second phase orthodontics (teenagers) and adult orthodontics.

Multidisciplinary treatment (in combination with periodontists, prosthodontists and/or maxillo-facial-oral surgeons) are also available.

What Is Orthodontics?

An Orthodontist is a dentist who specialized in Orthodontics.

Your Orthodontist will decide if orthodontic treatments are necessary by the use of X-rays and other methods with your first consultation.

Orthodontics is a specialized field where dental, skeletal and facial irregularities are treated by the use of braces and other appliances, which will move teeth that are crooked or do not fit together right and in some cases with the help of surgery.

Orthodontic treatment is more than just getting a pretty smile, it can also help you keep your mouth healthy over a long period of time. Crooked teeth can be difficult to clean, putting you at risk for cavities and gum diseases.
